Bug: save_path on Create Voice silently fails when target folder doesn't exist (no error, no log, no file saved)

Summary

Setting save_path on the Create Voice node to a path containing a non-existent subfolder causes the node to execute fully (real compute time, no errors thrown) but never actually saves the .pt voice file — with no indication in the console log that the save failed.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Add a Create Voice node with valid audio and text (transcript) inputs.
  2. Set save_path to a subfolder that does not yet exist on disk, e.g.:
    Josie\JosieVoice-26-07-23

  3. Set name to Josie.
  4. Run the prompt.

Observed behavior

  • Console shows the model actually running (talker/encoder/decoder init lines, ~8 seconds of real compute).
  • No error or warning is logged.
  • No .pt file appears anywhere on disk — not at the intended nested path, and not at the default location either.
  • The node reports successful execution (Prompt executed in X seconds) with no indication anything went wrong.

Expected behavior

One of the following:

  • The target folder is created automatically if it doesn't exist, or
  • The node logs a clear error/warning when the save_path folder can't be resolved, so the failure is visible instead of silent.

Workaround found

Leaving save_path blank causes the node to fall back to the name field and save into the default folder:

ComfyUI/output/qwen3-tts_voices/<name>.pt

This works reliably. The issue is specifically with providing a save_path value pointing at a non-existent folder.

Suggested improvements

  1. Tooltip on save_path clarifying that it expects an existing folder path (or documenting whether it's meant to support nested/new folders at all).
  2. Explicit console warning/error when the resolved save folder doesn't exist, rather than failing silently.
  3. Success log line on save, matching the pattern already used elsewhere in this repo for audio output:
✅ Saved audio successfully to: <path>

A parallel line like ✅ Saved voice successfully to: <path> on Create Voice would make save behavior transparent and consistent with the rest of the node pack.

Environment

  • ComfyUI-QwenTTS installed via git clone into a Stability Matrix–managed ComfyUI instance
  • ComfyUI 0.28.0, Windows, RTX 4070 (12GB VRAM)
  • Model: Base 1.7B, cuda:0, bf16

Add a **Create Voice** node with valid `audio` and `text` (transcript) inputs. 2. Set `save_path` to a subfolder that does not yet exist on disk, e.g.: ``` Josie\JosieVoice-26-07-23 ``` 3. Set `name` to `Josie`. 4. Run the prompt. ### Observed behavior - Console shows the model actually running (talker/encoder/decoder init lines, ~8 seconds of real compute). - No error or warning is logged. - No `.pt` file appears anywhere on disk — not at the intended nested path, and not at the default location either. - The node reports successful execution (`Prompt executed in X seconds`) with no indication anything went wrong. ### Expected behavior One of the following: - The target folder is created automatically if it doesn't exist, **or** - The node logs a clear error/warning when the `save_path` folder can't be resolved, so the failure is visible instead of silent. ### Workaround found Leaving `save_path` blank causes the node to fall back to the `name` field and save into the default folder: ``` ComfyUI/output/qwen3-tts_voices/<name>.pt ``` This works reliably.
