The version displayed is 3.40 while the latest release is 4.2.1.
I got a notification that I need to update but I don't know which release is actually installed.

OK my understanding is that main branch is pointing to v3, and v4 is in beta? It's another branch.
Which one is recommended?

OK, I installed v4 using "pip install", removed ComfyUI/custom_nodes/comfyui-manager, now I cannot see the button.

The log looks green:

[INFO] [ComfyUI-Manager] All startup tasks have been completed.
[INFO] [ComfyUI-Manager] The ComfyRegistry cache update is still in progress, so an outdated cache is being used.
FETCH DATA from: /content/ComfyUI/user/__manager/cache/1514988643_custom-node-list.json [DONE]
