I used comfyui earlier without issue.
However, when I decided to try a new workflow, I couldn't install the missing nodes. Looking at the terminal, I see the error
ERROR: The unsecure feature is disabled, restricting the installation of custom nodes. Please contact the administrator.
When trying the restart option, I see a similar message:
ERROR: The unsecure feature is disabled, restricting the reboot feature. Please contact the administrator.
Is this related to comfyui manager, or have I missed up my installation somehow?
@bjornwed commented on GitHub (May 12, 2024):
Same here, updated Comfy and all nodes and now I got this message as well...weird
@bjornwed commented on GitHub (May 12, 2024):
ok, found it. Logic changed in the following commit for "disable_unsecure_features" :
github.com/ltdrdata/ComfyUI-Manager@40afa92f51to fix it, simply update to latest fixed version, no need to change config.ini
~~go into custom_nodes/ComfyUI-Manager and edit config.ini.
set disable_unsecure_features = True
If you for some reason you don't have the above setting in the config.ini you can add it or rename config.ini to config.ini_ to have it recreated, but then make sure to change it from "False" to "True".~~
@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
This was my fault. Update to latest version (v2.23.2)
and keep it
@yw-2020 commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
after update all and restart, it says:
ERROR: The unsecure feature is disabled, restricting the reboot feature. Please contact the administrator.
@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
What is your ComfyUI-Manager version and what is the content in the

I conducted a test where I first deleted ComfyUI-Manager and then redownloaded and ran it, and it worked normally. However, after that, it became unusable again. Whether I restart or download other nodes through ComfyUI-Manager, it does not work properly. It can only run normally once, and then it starts to give an error:
ERROR: The unsecure feature is disabled, restricting the reboot feature. Please contact the administrator.
@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
Finally... I found the real reason....
Update it again. Now it is resolved...
@yw-2020 commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
Thanks a lot, it worked!
@kubilaykilinc commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
I am still getting this error. "install failed:". I can't install any new custom node.
And i did all fixes. But i am still getting this error "ERROR: The unsecure feature is disabled, restricting the reboot feature. Please contact the administrator."
@kubilaykilinc commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
I updated last version comfyui manager 2.32.3 and i did "disable_unsecure_features = False" in config.ini
Everything is fine now.
@rizlas commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
Still getting this error. Why
disable_unsecure_featuresdefault is False?Anyway I'm getting the error with both values.

@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
I meant ComfyUI dir not the ComfyUI-Manager dir.
@WeirdScienceX commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
I can confirm, the issue is now resolved
@rizlas commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
I'm running comfyui with docker and removed .git folder, but here is my current version and revision. Made an update since my last message.
ComfyUI: 2178[ece5ac](2024-05-12)@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
The version management of ComfyUI-Manager is handled by git. If you have deleted the .git path, it is normal that it is not recognized.
@rizlas commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
I have deleted ComfyUI
.gitfolder not ComfyUI-Manager one.Anyway I've restored it.
Here you go
@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
The .git folders for ComfyUI and all custom nodes must be preserved.
Custom nodes or ComfyUI without a .git folder are no longer under the Manager's management.
@rizlas commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
I have all .git folder now, but still
@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
That is a news board. That isn't meaning your state is invalid.
@rizlas commented on GitHub (May 13, 2024):
Really sorry about it, didn't catch >_>
