A few days ago I updated Manager for the first time since December 28. I intended to also update my torch nightlies using Manager, copying and pasting the command I always use,
--pre torch torchvision torchaudio --index-url https://download.pytorch.org/whl/nightly/cpu. I found that the pip package installation window is now different, no longer producing a browser popup. And it ALWAYS results in the error, "This action is not allowed with this security level configuration." I already had the security level set to normal- in config.ini, which had been working since security was first implemented. Now it no longer works. I even tried changing security to weak and I still get the error. It appears that Manager is no longer looking at config.ini for the setting, but the docs at https://github.com/ltdrdata/ComfyUI-Manager#security-policy have not been updated to indicate that this is intentional.MacOS 15.2, Python 3.10.16, Manager V3.4, ComfyUI v0.3.10-41-g2307ff6
@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
What is the full path to your config.ini file?
The path is moved to user directory. Make sure that.
@Adreitz commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
Thanks for your response. I installed ComfyUI through Pinokio, so the path is
/Users/[my user folder]/pinokio/api/ComfyUI/app/custom_nodes/ComfyUI-Manager/config.ini.@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
/Users/[my user folder]/pinokio/api/ComfyUI/user/default/ComfyUI-Manager/config.iniis the valid path.@Adreitz commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
This is where the file is. I've opened the file. The security setting was working before about a week ago. Here is my copy (though once setting the security to weak didn't work, I just left it, since it's being ignored. I'd prefer to have it at normal-.)
config.ini.zip
@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
The file itself has no issues. However, because the file path has changed, the existing
config.inino longer works.@Adreitz commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
Oh, I just saw that your valid path is different from mine. The ComfyUI/user path does not exist at all on my computer. If this is supposed to be the new path, shouldn't Manager create it when it updates itself?
@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
What is your log path?
@Adreitz commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
It's at
/Users/[my user folder]/pinokio/api/ComfyUI/app/comfyui.log. By the way, manually creating the path you specified above and moving config.ini there didn't immediately fix the problem, but I haven't had a chance to restart comfyui yet -- I'm in the process of generating right now.@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
Then you can find
/Users/[my user folder]/pinokio/api/ComfyUI/app/default/ComfyUI-Manager/config.ini@Adreitz commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
There is no
defaultfolder withinapp. I'll try creating it and see what happens.@Adreitz commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
Okay, I decided to just restart comfy. Neither
ComfyUI/app/default/ComfyUI-Manager/config.ininorComfyUI/user/default/ComfyUI-Manager/config.iniworks, restarting comfy each time I moved the file. Manager complains about the security setting in either location.@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (Jan 9, 2025):
Update to latest version (v3.5)
Then you can see path log.
@Adreitz commented on GitHub (Jan 10, 2025):
After updating to v3.5.1, Manager created the new log location and file,
/Users/[my user folder]/pinokio/api/ComfyUI/app/user/default/ComfyUI-Manager/config.ini. I modified the security configuration to normal- and restarted comfy, and was then able to update torch. Thanks for your help!@Trojaner commented on GitHub (Jan 13, 2025):
So you just randomly changed the config file path and decided to randomly break instances?
@ltdrdata commented on GitHub (Jan 14, 2025):
The reason for the change in the config path is related to improving the structure of custom nodes.
We aim to standardize the prevention of file creation within custom node paths.
Having files within custom node paths can cause various management issues, including permission-related problems.
Since ComfyUI recently introduced a "user directory" feature, the system will now operate based on this standard.
