Weird issue with all custom node git branches reset to headless (including comfyui git) and the following error for all attempts to update a package.

It appears that all attempts to update reference my base conda env lib instead of activated comfy venv?

i'm getting similar error. IN fact, ComfyUI-Manager is itself included in the failed updates list lol.

  1. The reason Miniconda was used is that you ran ComfyUI within that environment. You need to check the Python environment and execution command you are using to run ComfyUI.

  2. Please check if your ComfyUI-Manager version is up to date. I recall that this issue was already patched.
    latest version is v3.30.2

The real issue appears to be with all the custom nodes, and even comfyui root and manager, having been changed to headless on git branches. For some odd reason I have to go and manually set them back to master and then git pull.

The update issue is related to:

TypeError: expected str, bytes or os.PathLike object, not NoneType

That doesn't sound like an environment mismatch issue, right?

Manager itself gets updated when using update all, but all other updates fail.

Still happening with the latest manager version.

The cause of a custom node becoming headless and ComfyUI becoming headless are completely different.

In the case of ComfyUI, it can switch to headless mode because it provides a feature to switch between stable versions. However, for custom nodes, this can only happen when restoring a snapshot.

Did your issue occur after restoring a snapshot?

Nope, I've never restored a snapshot with Comfy.

I think it happened because of a cache dump or some cache command that Claude suggested I do.

It basically detached ComfyUI, manager and all custom nodes from master.

The other possibility is that the big updates somehow messed with it due to my environment setup.

The upside is that it made me try putting Comfy on WSL Ubuntu instead and its a lot better than the Windows side lol.
