📄 Description

ELI-5

Most agent tools now read a shared AGENTS.md for their instructions, but Claude Code only reads CLAUDE.md and does not fall back to AGENTS.md. This adds a tiny CLAUDE.md "shim" whose only job is to import AGENTS.md, so Claude Code picks up the same instructions every other tool already uses. No instruction content is duplicated — the shim just points at AGENTS.md.

What changed

  • Added root CLAUDE.md containing exactly the canonical org-standard shim:
    • a comment explaining it's a shim (edit AGENTS.md, not this file), and
    • @AGENTS.md, which Claude Code resolves relative to the shim's directory.

What did not change

  • AGENTS.md is untouched (already compliant at 63 lines).
  • No .cursorrules exists (nothing to remove — modern tools read AGENTS.md).
  • Only a root AGENTS.md exists in the tree, so only a single root CLAUDE.md shim is needed; there are no nested AGENTS.md files requiring sibling shims.

Testing

Docs-only change — a new markdown file that is not a Package.swift resource and has no runtime or build surface, so the Swift build/test suite is unaffected. Verified the file byte-for-byte matches the canonical shim (including the em-dash) and that the diff adds only CLAUDE.md.
