Hi. I have desktop verion installed and accepted the app update popup screen when coffy was launching. Now I can't start it as it starts with the fresh instalation screen.
I had so much custom nodes and settings and links with external folders and I do not want to repeat all this process again. Is there any way to update it or revert the update? there are still all the files in the folder. How do I skip this welome screen, open the comfy and update it from there?

Hello @JaFarey! I'm here to help you with bugs, questions, and becoming a contributor. Let's squash some bugs together! 😊
To resolve the issue of the ComfyUI desktop app starting with the initial setup screen after an update, you can try the following steps:
Check Configuration Files: Ensure that your
config.jsonandextra_model_config.yamlfiles are intact and correctly configured. These files store your user settings and custom nodes. On Windows, they should be located in%APPDATA%\ComfyUI[1][2].Verify File Paths: Make sure that the
basePathinconfig.jsonis correctly pointing to the directory where your ComfyUI files, including custom nodes, are stored.Revert to Previous Version: If the update caused issues, you might consider manually reverting to a previous version. This typically involves replacing the updated files with backups of the previous version. If you have a backup of the application directory before the update, you can restore it.
Skip Initial Setup: Unfortunately, there is no documented method to bypass the initial setup screen directly. However, ensuring that your configuration files are correctly set up might help the app recognize your existing setup and skip the initial configuration.
Reinstall and Restore: As a last resort, you can uninstall the current version and reinstall the previous version, then restore your configuration files from a backup.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to manually reconfigure your settings and custom nodes.

Sorry you are experiencing that! Can you upload your extra_model_config.yaml?
On Windows:
%APPDATA%\ComfyUI\extra_models_config.yamlOr DM me on discord:

From the welcome screen, if you select an existing ComfyUI directory it should just the virtual environment in that directory to start ComfyUI. eg Just go through the install screen but select an existing directory.

Hi.
I decided to make a fresh installation, but now I encounter a new Issues. Program does not close and it says "Unable to load logs, please ensure you have updated your ComfyUI backend." and some nodes are not visible after installation :(
I think I will need to come back to portable version.

After clicking the "Close Window" button, the software still cannot be closed. It can only be ended by terminating the task from the Resource Manager. Is this normal?
@robinjhuang commented on GitHub (Jan 23, 2025):
Sorry we have a fix coming real soon for that.
@robinjhuang commented on GitHub (Jan 23, 2025):
Can you try the most recent update? Should fix the window closing issue
@cherish333 commented on GitHub (Jan 23, 2025):
Everything is back to normal after the update. Great!
