App Version
ComfyUI v0.3.27
Expected Behavior
I'm trying to migrate from ComyUI Standalone to the Desktop version.
But it seems, there is no way to update ComfyUI (like update_comfyui.bat in standalone-version). When I installed the desktop version I activated the automated update.
(For example, I'm still missing the new Voxel to mesh node introduced in
github.com/comfyanonymous/ComfyUI@fe29739c68)Is there a way to force comfyui update to the latest github commit?
Actual Behavior
Update of Comfyui to the latest github commit
Steps to Reproduce
Just try to update

To update the ComfyUI desktop version to the latest GitHub commit, you can use the auto-update feature, which should automatically update ComfyUI when new stable versions are released, provided that you have enabled automatic updates in the desktop app settings [1]. However, if you want to force an update to the latest commit, similar to the standalone version's
update_comfyui.bat, you might need to manually clone the latest version from the GitHub repository and replace the existing files in your installation directory. This approach requires some familiarity with Git commands and manual file management.To continue talking to Dosu, mention @dosu.

@webfiltered commented on GitHub (Apr 17, 2025):
A new version of the desktop app is released whenever there is a stable release of ComfyUI. If you have automatic updates enabled, everything should happen without the need to intervene.
Whilst there is nothing preventing you from changing the ComfyUI files the app installs, it is an app rather than a git repo, so there are no commits or a remote to pull from.

@webfiltered Thank you for your feedback! So there is no general way to update to the latest comfyui github commit if the desktop app is used?
It is also not possible to update to the "Pre-release" of comfyui? Which is currently v0.3.28 while (stable) v0.3.27 is used in the desktop app.
@webfiltered commented on GitHub (Apr 17, 2025):
That's right - the app just isn't designed to work like a git repo. When a stable release is made, the desktop app is then built, signed, and distributed with the code bundled inside it.
At some point there may be nightly builds, but that's not yet decided.
