@dosubot[bot] commented on GitHub (Sep 24, 2025):
The Homebrew install is failing because the cask tries to download from a ToDesktop-generated URL that is currently unreachable or broken. This URL is not managed in the ComfyUI desktop repo and may be outdated. The official documentation recommends a different direct download link for macOS ARM: https://download.comfy.org/mac/dmg/arm64 — this installer is up to date and should work as a workaround until the Homebrew cask is fixed or the server issue is resolved [docs].
If you see similar errors with other URLs, check your network, firewall, or proxy settings, but in this case the problem is almost certainly with the download server itself, not your setup. There are no open issues or recent changes in the desktop repo related to this Homebrew cask or its download URL, so the fix will need to happen in the cask definition outside this repo.

Docs are dead. Just use Dosu.

Figured it out, it looks like the domain
download.todesktop.comis blocked by some firewalls and adblockers.I had to allow list the domain temporarily for the install to work.
@webfiltered commented on GitHub (Sep 24, 2025):
Yikes, that is unexpected! @sammcj Any chance you'd be willing to let us know the software/service that blocked it? I'm quite sure the people over at ToDesktop would love to address whatever is causing them to get blacklisted.
@fennelfora commented on GitHub (Jun 8, 2026):
I just came across this so I guess they’re still on lists. I know at least AdGuard is blocking it by default. I recently installed it so it’s still on original rules at the moment. As soon as I switched my network I had no problem running “brew install comfyui”.

I ran: https://download.todesktop.com/ against https://semonto.com/ and a few other down detectors and everything says it is down.
