Hi @Alienizering! I'm Dosu and I’m helping the desktop team.
This is a known issue with the ComfyUI desktop app on Windows, especially after updating nodes via the Manager and restarting. The blank UI and lingering Python processes are often caused by conflicts with custom nodes, dependency problems, or the Manager not updating the user environment correctly in the desktop app. If a workflow with missing or problematic nodes is open during the update, it can also trigger this behavior example.
Troubleshooting steps that have helped others include: disabling custom nodes, resetting the virtual environment by deleting the
.venvfolder, clearing or regenerating config files, and performing a clean reinstall of the desktop app details. Dependency conflicts (like withhuggingface-hub) or missing Python packages after node updates can also cause startup failures; reinstalling dependencies via pip has resolved issues for some users details.Check the logs (
main.logandcomfyui.log) inC:\Users\<YOUR_USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\ComfyUI\logsfor errors about node import failures or dependency issues docs. If the issue persists, try disabling custom nodes, resetting the environment, or reinstalling dependencies as described above. If you have a workflow that always loads on startup, try removing or renaming it outside the app to see if the UI recovers example.Let me know if you need more detailed steps for any of these troubleshooting actions.
