App Version
Expected Behavior
After updating the comfyui desktop version to 0.4.0, the manager became unusable, which made it extremely difficult to solve the problem of custom sections.
Actual Behavior
The extension manager under the menu is of no use. Missing items won't be displayed there, and conflicting items won't be shown either. For me, this function doesn't have any effect in resolving node failures. I hope this issue can be fixed.
Steps to Reproduce
After updating the comfyui desktop version to 0.4.0, the manager is no longer usable.

Hi @changpd25-cell! I'm Dosu and I’m helping the desktop team.
This is a known issue after updating to ComfyUI desktop v0.4.0. The extension manager (now called "Manage Extensions" in the main menu) was changed to use pip-distributed installation and new dependency handling, but several bugs and limitations have been reported: missing/conflicting items often aren't displayed, the "missing" button may not work, and the manager can become unusable if dependencies are broken or if ComfyUI is installed in restricted folders like Program Files or OneDrive [source][source].
To restore manager functionality, try these steps: move your ComfyUI install out of restricted folders, open the built-in terminal and run
pip install -r requirements.txtinside the app’s virtual environment, delete the.venvfolder and restart to force a clean environment, and back up/remove config files likecomfy.settings.jsonto let the app regenerate them. Checkmain.logandcomfyui.logfor errors about node import failures or dependency issues [source][source].If the manager still doesn't show missing/conflicting nodes, you can manually disable all custom nodes and re-enable them one by one (or in halves) to isolate problematic nodes, or update/replace problematic nodes using the ComfyUI Registry [source].
There are ongoing improvements planned for the manager and desktop app, but for now, these workarounds are the most effective. If you need immediate access to the latest features or more reliable node management, consider using the portable or manual install versions, which can be updated independently [source].
