Hi @instaismylife01-arch! I'm Dosu and I’m helping the desktop team.
For WAN models to show up in ComfyUI Desktop, make sure you’re placing each model file in the correct subfolder: diffusion models in
models/diffusion_models/, text encoders inmodels/text_encoders/, VAE inmodels/vae/, and CLIP Vision inmodels/clip_vision/. The file names must match what the workflow expects (e.g.,wan2.1_fun_inp_1.3B_bf16.safetensors) reference. If your models are stored outside the default models directory, you need to add their paths to
extra_models_config.yaml(for Desktop, this is atC:\Users\<YOUR_USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\ComfyUI\extra_models_config.yamlon Windows). Make sure this file exists and is correctly configured, then restart the app reference. If you installed ComfyUI Desktop inside the application folder (like under
Program Files), the updater may wipe your models/configs during updates. Move your models/config folders outside the app install directory (e.g., to Documents) and update the System Paths in the app settings reference. On AMD Z1 Extreme, ComfyUI Desktop is not officially supported and may be unstable or fail to load models, even if the portable version works. The desktop app tries to install AMD ROCm and PyTorch packages, but support is less mature than for NVIDIA GPUs reference. If the app exits automatically, try resetting the virtual environment: close ComfyUI, delete the
.venvfolder in your base path, and restart the app to force a fresh environment setup reference. If you still don’t see the models, check the logs (
main.logandcomfyui.login your user/config folder) for errors about missing models, config issues, or virtual environment problems.Let me know if you want a step-by-step checklist for these troubleshooting steps.
