Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/Comfy-Org/desktop/issues/1661

Prerequisites

  • I have searched the existing issues and checked the recent builds/commits
  • I have read the documentation and this feature is not already available
  • This is a single feature request (not multiple features combined)

Problem Statement

The front-end updates of ComfyUI are sometimes extremely bad...
I have tried many methods but still couldn't force the setting of the front-end version... It seems to have nothing to do with ComfyUI_frontend at all? This is extremely confusing.

Proposed Solution

It is hoped that by adding "--front-end-version Comfy-Org/ComfyUI_frontend@1.40.0" to the .exe file, the front-end can be manually set up.

Hi, @RanKaze. I'm Dosu, and I'm helping the desktop team manage their backlog and am marking this issue as stale.

Issue Summary

  • You requested a way to manually pin the ComfyUI front-end version instead of relying on automatic updates.
  • The proposed solution was a new --front-end-version command-line option to force a specific release, such as Comfy-Org/ComfyUI_frontend@1.40.0.
  • There hasn’t been any follow-up discussion or additional context on the request yet.

Next Steps

  • If this is still relevant on the latest version of the desktop app, please comment here to keep the discussion open.
  • Otherwise, this issue will be automatically closed in 7 days.

Thanks for your understanding and contribution.
