Description
After using "Reset Environment" in the ComfyUI Desktop troubleshooting UI, custom nodes remain in the
custom_nodes/directory but their Python pip dependencies are not reinstalled. All custom nodes that require additional pip packages fail to load withImportError.Steps to Reproduce
Expected Behavior
"Reset Environment" should either:
requirements.txtfiles), ORActual Behavior
Workaround
Open ComfyUI Manager > "すべてインストール済み" (All Installed) > search each broken node > click version > select "ナイトリー" (Nightly) > click "インストール" (Install). Restart ComfyUI after all reinstalls.

This is a confirmed limitation of the "Reset Environment" feature. A maintainer confirmed in issue #1665 that Reset Environment does not reinstall custom node pip dependencies.
What happens: The
resetEnvironment()function completely deletes the.venvdirectory and recreates it with only core ComfyUI and ComfyUI-Manager dependencies. Custom node folders are preserved, but their pip packages are wiped. Why this gap exists: During initial installation/migration, the app uses ComfyUI-Manager's snapshot system to restore custom nodes and their dependencies. However, Reset Environment doesn't trigger this mechanism—it only creates a fresh venv and reinstalls core requirements.
Your suggestions are valid—the feature would benefit from either:
custom_nodes/*/requirements.txtand reinstalling them after venv recreationAlternative workaround (since you're on macOS): You can use ComfyUI Desktop's built-in terminal (which has proper permissions) to batch-reinstall dependencies. Note that external Terminal apps may be blocked by macOS sandboxing from accessing the
.venvdirectory.To reply, just mention @dosu.
