ComfyUI_desktop v0.8.24

Expected Behavior

Connections inside nested subgraphs should remain intact when launching a generation from the root level.

Actual Behavior

Connections inside nested subgraphs appear intact after loading the workflow, but break at the moment generation is launched from the root level. Launching the generation from inside the parent subgraph works correctly. The issue is specific to the Electron UI — loading the same workflow via the browser at http://127.0.0.1:8188 works without any problem.

Steps to Reproduce

1 Load a workflow containing nested subgraphs via the Electron UI workflow loader
2 Connections appear correct at this stage
3 Enter the parent subgraph and run the generation → works correctly
4 Go back to the root level and run the generation → connections inside the nested subgraph break at that moment

Additional notes:
Loading the workflow by drag & dropping a PNG image generated with that workflow does not trigger the bug
The issue appeared after the last update
The portable version with the same ComfyUI version and custom nodes is not affected

The fact that the bug only triggers when launching from the root level suggests the issue lies in how the Electron UI flattens the nested subgraph hierarchy when serializing the prompt to send to the backend.

The error output shows node IDs in colon-separated notation (e.g., 171:245:258:121), which is how ComfyUI flattens nested subgraph nodes into a prompt — the missing image inputs indicate those cross-subgraph links aren't being resolved when the prompt is serialized from the root context. The fact that it works from inside the parent subgraph, via the browser, and via PNG drag-and-drop strongly suggests the Electron frontend is taking a different code path when building the prompt from the root graph level, likely failing to correctly traverse and remap link IDs across subgraph boundaries before dispatch. A likely culprit is any Electron-specific interception layer (IPC handler or preload script) that post-processes or re-serializes the prompt object after app.queuePrompt() — this could be stripping or mis-mapping the subgraph link references that LiteGraph only fully resolves when the active graph context is the root.
