Is there a supported way to change this Location/storage to another drive or custom folder?
@dosubot[bot] commented on GitHub (Jun 9, 2026):
Yes, there are a few ways to change the storage location:
1. Edit
config.jsonmanuallyYou can change the
basePathvalue in the config file [1]:%APPDATA%\ComfyUI\config.json~/Library/Application Support/ComfyUI/config.json~/.config/ComfyUI/config.jsonSet the
basePathkey to your desired folder path, then restart the app.2. Through the app UI
There's a directory picker accessible via the troubleshooting interface that lets you change the base path [2].
⚠️ Windows restriction: The path validator currently blocks installation on drives other than your
SystemDrive(typicallyC:\) [3]. If you're on Windows trying to move to a different drive (e.g.,D:\), this may be blocked. The path also must not be inside OneDrive, the app install directory, or updater cache folders [4].Additional tip: If you mainly want models on another drive, you can configure extra model search paths via
extra_models_config.yamlin the same config directory [5]. This lets you point to model folders on other drives without moving everything.To reply, just mention @dosu.
