Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/Comfy-Org/desktop/issues/324

Current:

  1. Start desktop normally
  2. Press alt
  3. Click / drag anywhere on the screen
  4. Release alt
  5. File / edit / view menu bar appears

Expected:

If anything other than a mouse move happens - click, press shift, etc - it's expected that the alt shortcut to focus menu is cancelled.

A regular tap of just the alt key is fine.

It could be put into an always-visible button on a custom title bar (if electron supports that?). Like Chrome's top-left button:

Hi, @webfiltered. I'm Dosu, and I'm helping the desktop team manage their backlog. I'm marking this issue as stale.

Issue Summary:

  • The file menu bar appears when the alt key is pressed, even with other actions like clicking or pressing shift.
  • Expected behavior is for the alt shortcut to be canceled if any action other than a mouse move occurs.
  • @linear suggested adding an always-visible button on a custom title bar, similar to Chrome's top-left button, as a potential solution.

Next Steps:

  • Please confirm if this issue is still relevant to the latest version of the desktop repository by commenting here.
  • If no updates are provided, the issue will be automatically closed in 7 days.

Thank you for your understanding and contribution!
