SillyTavern UI reports:

Error: HTTP 500: Internal Server Error

TTS Generation Failed
Internal Server Error

Command window displays:

[SillyTavern-EdgeTTS-Plugin] Request failed Connect Error: {}

This has been happening for several weeks when trying to narrate

Microsoft Edge Version 144.0.3719.115 (Official build) (64-bit)

The issue is that the older msedge-tts version has been deprecated. To fix it:

  1. Update the dependency in package.json:
    "msedge-tts": "^2.0.2" → "msedge-tts": "^2.0.4"

  2. Run npm install to apply the update

  3. Run npm run build to rebuild the project

  4. Restart SillyTavern server

Done — everything should work again.
