When trying to scrape https://honkai-star-rail.fandom.com, I'm getting the below error where it mentions "Binary files are not supported. Select a text file or image."
Please advise.
@ewephoric commented on GitHub (Dec 10, 2025):
Yes, I get this problem too.
@Cohee1207 commented on GitHub (Dec 10, 2025):
Fandom added browser fingerprinting, likely as a scraping prevention method. There's likely nothing I could do, I don't attempt to circumvent any limitations imposed by services as this is futile.

also getting this error. please fix, this is one of the most important features of st to my rp.
a shit workaround is:
-go to the allpages page of the wiki
-use https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/copy-selected-links/ so you can bulk copy links from the page
-paste them into notepad, keep going until you get all the wiki pages in a list
-go to st\data\default-user\user\files
-if you have anything there (like other ripped stuff), cut them to a temp folder on your desktop so the folder is empty
-paste your list into 'add web' part of databank and let it run
-you'll end up with a shit ton of separate files in your folder.
-open cmd in the folder and type copy /b *.txt output.txt (name it something relevant)
-that will merge all the files into 1. delete all the extra files except your new merged one and cut it to the desktop. move your other files back and
-use 'add file' from the databank on your new merged file, it'll vectorize the same way as it would've if the fandom scraper had worked

I also encountered this problem. Of course, I will try to fix this somehow, but I don’t have any free time right now.
If it works out, I'll let you know. (Because as I understand it, such a pull request will not be accepted.)
@Nidelon commented on GitHub (Jan 30, 2026):
I’ve finished it, it's ready for testing. MediaWiki support isn't implemented yet. https://github.com/Nidelon/SillyTavern-Fandom-API-Scraper
@tomatoesahoy commented on GitHub (Jan 30, 2026):
i removed the original scraper, followed the directions on your page. it seemed to build and load fine in the console, but i don't see any options for fandom now in the databank so i'm unable to test anything. thanks for the work though, i'll be watching your page hoping for the best.
@Nidelon commented on GitHub (Jan 31, 2026):
@tomatoesahoy Oops, sorry, I made a small mistake. Fixed.
@tomatoesahoy commented on GitHub (Jan 31, 2026):
its working!

You could use wayback machine. Like this for example:
https://web.archive.org/web/20260203084302/https://honkai-star-rail.fandom.com/wiki/Honkai:_Star_Rail_Wiki
It takes a snapshot of the wiki or update it. Add your link in the archives and see if it has the recent snapshot.
