Windows Defender recently flagged the latest version, v5.4.0, as Program:Win32/Wacapew.C!ml.
@Yuvi9587 commented on GitHub (Jun 19, 2025):
Hey! In v5.4.0, the app saves the history of the last download in a Download_history.json file in your Documents folder — that might be why Windows Defender flagged it. No worries though, it doesn’t do anything malicious. You can check out the source code on GitHub if you want to take a look

Actually latest 2 versions are being blocked completely by the browser as well, i have had to use jDownloader to download them because the browser doesn't even allow me to keep it nor ignore the warning, it just stops downloading.
If you know saving the json in documents is triggering this maybe try a different approach, like saving all files created by the program in it's currently residing root folder like many other programs do and as you already do with the "known.txt" file.

Use another browser or right click it and click keep

I would have done that if it allowed me to, i'm not a newbie XD , anyway for some reason the browser does not give any warning anymore, probably microsoft checked them with their automatic submission system and unflagged the files manually since yesterday(that screenshot was from my history, not from an attempt from today), currently Edge and Defender doesn't flag the files anymore, but the problem might return for every new version if they are making manual exceptions by fingerprint.
