AmneziaVPN 4.8.15.4 on MacOS 26.4.1 (25E253) disconnects and stucks on "reconnect" status, at this time it is impossible to normally close the app, it requires force quit and restart.
at the same time it works fine on iOS

issue-2593-excerpt.log #
Same issue on macOS (Darwin 25.2.0), AmneziaVPN 4.8.15.4 (2edd7de), protocol OpenVPN over Cloak. Log excerpt attached.
Two distinct bugs combine into the "stuck on reconnect" symptom:

  1. ck-client is not killed on stop → next connect hits EADDRNOTAVAIL loop

After OpenVpnOverCloakProtocol::stop() the ck-client helper apparently stays alive. On the next connect the new
instance enters an infinite retry:

ck-client: level=error msg="Failed to establish new connections to remote:
dial tcp 89.125.144.145:443: connect: can't assign requested address"

Repeats every ~3s for minutes. EADDRNOTAVAIL on dial is a local bind failure (leaked sockets / exhausted ephemeral
ports from the previous helper), not a server problem. Force-quitting the app kills the orphan, the OS reclaims
sockets, and the next launch connects in ~2 seconds.

Fix area: OpenVpnOverCloakProtocol::stop() should wait for the ck-client QProcess to actually terminate (SIGTERM →
finished() with timeout → SIGKILL) before returning.

  1. Reconnect button is dropped while state == Reconnecting

[WARNING] "Reconnect triggered on Reconnecting during inappropriate state: %2; ignoring slot"

Appears in bursts every time the user clicks. Combined with bug #1 there is no in-app way out — the button does
nothing, ck-client is stuck in its bind-loop, force-quit is the only remedy.

Fix area: in Reconnecting state, a user-initiated stop should hard-cancel (kill helpers, go to Disconnected) instead
of being filtered out by the state guard.

Workaround without force-quitting the GUI:
sudo pkill -9 ck-client ; sudo pkill -9 openvpn
