Describe the bug

On a screen with a physical resolution of 1920×1080 pixels, I set the scaling to 150% in Windows 11 display settings (because I have vision problems).
1920/1.5=1280
1080/1.5=720
When I set the scaling to 150%, the 1920×1080 physical resolution became a 1280×720 logical (software) resolution.
(Note: When the scale is set to 100% at a physical resolution of 1920×1080, the logical resolution is also 1920×1080.)

When the screen’s logical (software) resolution is 1280×720, every time I launch the Amnezia client application, the height of the application window (in logical pixels) exceeds 720 pixels. As a result, it extends below the taskbar. Since the menu buttons (Home, Share, Settings, and + buttons) are at the very bottom, I cannot click them. Every time the app starts and I want to use the buttons, I have to manually resize the Amnezia Client window by dragging its top edge to make the buttons visible. Having to do this every single time is frustrating. Additionally, the ability to resize the window is limited. However, these limits are configured based on a 100% scale value. This makes it difficult to view the entire Amnezia Client window on monitors with low physical resolution and in screen modes with reduced logical resolution. On monitors with very low physical resolution, it’s impossible to see the entire window. Dragging the window to the very top doesn’t help either; it cannot be dragged any higher.
On monitors and/or screens with a physical and/or logical pixel resolution of 1280×720, users cannot access the buttons located below the amnezia-client window. They cannot use these buttons.
[Note: You can determine the window’s physical pixel dimensions (width and height) using a screenshot (ShareX or similar tools).]

On a monitor with a physical resolution of 1920×1080, when you set the scale (scaling factor) to 150%, the logical screen resolution becomes 1280×720; therefore, the amnezia-client application window size (physical resolution) becomes 574×1067. As a result, the window overflows and hangs below the Start menu. The buttons at the very bottom of the window are inaccessible. To access these buttons (Settings, Share, and Add (+) buttons), you have to drag the top edge of the window down with the mouse button held down to resize it. Having to do this every time I launch the Amnezia-client application makes for a terrible user experience.
For individuals with more severe vision impairments, the scaling percentage may need to be set higher than 150%. In this case, even dragging the top of the window with the mouse to reduce its height isn’t enough, because the window’s height is capped. We can’t shorten it as much as we’d like. It can only be minimized to a certain point. As a result, it becomes impossible to access the buttons at the very bottom.
This is a major accessibility issue. It’s not accessible. It’s a situation that people with visual impairments will hate.

If you set the scale to 140% on a 1920×1080 monitor using the custom scaling setting (1920/1.4 ≈ 1371.5; 1080/1.4 ≈ 771.5), the screen’s logical resolution becomes 1371.5×771.5. The amnezia-client dimensions become 532×992. The overflow issue is resolved in a way I don’t want. This situation is not a sufficient solution for people with visual impairments like me. It’s a temporary solution. Because a 140% scaling factor isn’t suitable for me. My vision is blurry, and I have to get much closer to the screen. This leads to various eye problems and the progression of my visual impairment.

This issue isn’t limited to 1920×1080 monitors. It applies to all monitors. The 1920×1080 monitors were mentioned only as an example to make the issue clearer.

  • To resolve this issue, the algorithm in the software that determines window sizes must base its calculations on logical resolution rather than physical resolution and adjust the window size accordingly.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to ‘Settings -> Display -> Scale’
  2. Click on ‘Numeric value dropdown’
  3. Set the Scale (or scaling size or scaling factor) value to ‘150’%.
  4. Observe the issue where the buttons at the bottom of the amnezia-client window are not visible, hidden under the taskbar, or overlapping it.
  5. To set a custom scaling factor:
    Go to ‘Settings -> Display -> Scale -> > -> Custom Scaling’
  6. Click on the 'Numeric value field'
  7. Manually enter the desired scaling value as a percentage.
  8. See the buttons at the bottom of the amnezia-client window.

Expected behavior
The accessibility and user experience issue must be resolved.
