Describe the bug

After installing an AmneziaWG server (May 2026), existing VPN clients work correctly, but the server cannot generate valid configurations for new clients.

The users/clients list is empty, although several devices are actively connected and using the VPN.

When creating a new client:

generated configuration contains empty PublicKey and PresharedKey in the [Peer] section;
QR import fails with error #1100;
importing the generated .conf file fails with error #900.

Another AmneziaWG server installed in 2023 works correctly using the same Android application.

To Reproduce

Open the existing AmneziaWG server.
Create a new client.
Export QR or .conf.
Generated configuration has empty PublicKey and PresharedKey.
QR import returns #1100, .conf import returns #900.

Expected behavior

The server should display existing clients and generate valid client configurations with populated PublicKey and PresharedKey.

Log files

Android client only provides UI/application logs and does not include server-side errors.

The Docker container uses the none logging driver, therefore docker logs cannot be used.

POCO M6 pro android 16
AmneziaVPN version 4.8.21.0 (jul 10 2026, 72ee32a) from Google Play

Server

Ubuntu 24.04
Docker image: amnezia-awg2:latest
1 vCPU
4 GB RAM
10 GB NVMe

Additional context

The problem appeared almost immediately after the server installation.

Existing VPN clients continue to work, but the users list is empty and no new valid client configurations can be generated.

Inside the container I found /opt/amnezia/awg/clientsTable, so it looks like the server keeps some client state, but the management interface no longer displays or uses it.

Question: Is there a way to rebuild or restore the client database without reinstalling the server?
