In #13 there said that amnezia supports m1, but when I download AmneziaVPN_4.1.0.1.dmg from releases, i got

  • OS: MacOS 14.1.1

So, it seems there actually no support for apple silicon?

We need to build a universal binary that will be installed on any architecture

It's now the fifth year since the release of Apple Silicon computers.

Is there any hope of ever releasing a version with native support for these processors?
This is the only application that runs under Rosetta, btw

Guys, I want to pay you money for Amnezia Premium, but I won't install Rosetta.

I just found out that you can simply install the IOS version from the App Store. It does not require Rosetta. Haven't tested all features yet, but so far it just works. I'm using an M4 MacBook.

iPhone app doesn't work properly tho.

no menu bar icon; you have to always keep it open; main page doesn't render properly if you "close" app

P.S. also noticed that desktop app works slow af compared to iOS app (prolly cause of rosetta)

Can’t install app and can’t install rosetta 2 due apple’s restriction to Russia. You need to use third party vpn first. It’s weird. Make native app. Intel support will be discontinued on 2027!

https://github.com/amnezia-vpn/amnezia-client/pull/2783 - feel free to test. Pay attention that it won't support amnezia premium/free.

Compile it like that if you want to test:

xcode-select --install
pip install aqtinstal py7zr
aqt install-qt mac desktop 6.10.1 clang_64 -O ~/Qt -m qtremoteobjects qt5compat qtshadertools
brew install cmake ninja conan
env -u GOROOT -u GOBIN ./deploy/build.sh --macos-arch arm64 --installer productbuild

GOROOT/GOBIN parts are only needed if you manually changed them (ie you run mise or asdf with version management).

Package should be in deploy/build.

Zero source code changes, only some additions to build system.

✅ This issue can be closed.
The ARM build is already in the master branch and was released as part of version 5.0.0.5. You can see the commit from MR https://github.com/amnezia-vpn/amnezia-client/pull/2601 by checking the changelog for this version: 4.8.21.0...5.0.0.2.
