Hi, I have faced the same problem. To solve it you need to go into windows services, find amneziaVPN-service and turn it on.

I have the same problem, the service amnezia is running, I have found only one solution for myself so far, launching the previous build, the VPN client starts there.

@HAVKEY why Amnezia-service was disabled on your Windows? Did you disable it, or may be you have some antivirus or another software which disable it?

It's already running in my case, but I'm still getting this error.

SOLVED: I've had the same problem. My mistake was that i've copied amneziavpn.app from .dmg to applications folder and then have run it from there. Because of it amnezia wasn't installed properly. I've uninstalled it and then have run amneziavpn.app right from mounted dmg and it was installed correctly. After it problem has diappeared

I think the current implementation of Utils::processIsRunning just doesn't work on Windows 11 or on some of its builds.

Edited2:
It's not installed by default as of new builds of Windows, but it can be installed in Optional features in Windows settings.

macos

When installing AmneziaVPN via Homebrew using:

brew install amneziavpn

it places an installer (AmneziaVPN.app) in the Applications folder instead of directly installing the client app. This requires extra manual steps to install the actual application:

Move the installer:

mv ~/Applications/AmneziaVPN.app ~/Downloads/AmneziaVPN.app

Open the installer:

open -a ~/Downloads/AmneziaVPN.app

Follow the installation instructions.

It would be better if brew install amneziavpn directly installed the application in the Applications folder, skipping the installer step. This would align with standard Homebrew behavior for GUI apps.

@igorlaryush commented on GitHub (Dec 19, 2024):

On my Windows 10 system, the installation initially failed with an error message like "unexpected behavior, error code ...". The issue occurred when trying to run the following command:

sc create AmneziaVPN-service binpath= ""C:\Program Files\AmneziaVPN\AmneziaVPN-service.exe"" start= auto depend= BFE/nsi
At first, I didn't notice the error and attempted to connect, only to encounter the same issue mentioned in this thread.

It turns out the problem was that the directory containing the sc command wasn't added to my system's PATH. As a result, the installer couldn't locate the command, leading to the failure.
