Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/amnezia-vpn/amnezia-client/issues/1271

Describe the bug
After some failure, the client stopped connecting to the server. It got to the point where I completely reinstalled the OS on the server, reinstalled the client on the laptop (first the old version, then the new one), and I still get the error 202 Docker container missing.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Add a server
  2. Select the protocol for the vpn
  3. click the install icon on the server
  4. See error

Expected behavior
Installing a VPN protocol with the further ability to connect to it... like it used to work.

Проверьте, что может с виртуалки скачать образ Alpine.
Долго писало, что не может сделать, в итоге посмотрел /opt/amnezia/amnezia-xray/Dockerfile и решил руками сбилдить руками. При попытке скачивания образа Alpine ругалось, что вы из запрещенной страны.

Check that the Alpine image can be downloaded from the virtual machine.
Look at /opt/amnesia/amnesia-xray/Dockerfile and build it. When trying to download the Alpine image, they swore that you were from a banned country.

Check that the Alpine image can be downloaded from the virtual machine. Look at /opt/amnesia/amnesia-xray/Dockerfile and build it. When trying to download the Alpine image, they swore that you were from a banned country.

So, how to solve this issue? I'm using Debian 11 on my VPS and also get this error when trying to install xray protocol

Same error. Where were you able to download the image from?

In general, yes, it must be a matter of “forbidden country”.
If you set up ssh-tunnel beforehand, everything is installed on the server normally. After that you can turn off the ssh-tunnel and connect to the protocol installed on the server.

But this is a problem and it must be solved somehow. Otherwise, what is the point of a program to bypass country blocking if it cannot be used from this country.

I'm bringing up an ssh tunnel with this command:

ssh -D 8080 <USERNAME_on_server_,_root_for_example>@<server_IP>

After that, in the system settings of the network you should enable Proxy > Manual and there enter localhost in the URL and 8080 in the Port.

I had the same issue during the installation of the server. It solved by installing each protocol inside the app seperately.

Debian 11-12

sudo apt install apparmor apparmor-utils

helped and worked.

About trouble debian:
The xraay installer from amneziavpn automatically deploys and applies an apparmor profile to the binary itself to restrict its actions and allow it to listen to low ports (443, etc.). Without the apparmor-utils package and the necessary libraries, Debian could not register this profile correctly and the installation would fail. Once you installed apparmor + apparmor-utils, the installer was able to:

Generate a profile (/etc/apparmor.d/usr.local.bin.xray-amnezia).

Load it into the kernel (aa-enable / aa-complain).

Give the binary the necessary bind rights via setcap (from the capsh utility, etc.).
