Describe the bug

After upgrading to 4.8.9.0 (4.8.8.3 doesn't have this problem), when trying to connect via WireGuard/Amnezia Free connection, it immediately disconnects. This is what it looks like in the terminal:

$ AmneziaVPN
Fontconfig warning: using without calling FcInit()

IpcClient::init succeed
Started AmneziaVPN version 4.8.9.0 f51fd2b

(XRay and Shadowsocks connections do not have this problem).

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Update to 4.8.9.0
  2. Run (in terminal, to see messages)
  3. Start WireGuard or Amnezia Free connection
  4. See error (instant disconnect)

Expected behavior
Successful connection via WireGuard/Amnezia Free connection.

@lufog commented on GitHub (Jul 25, 2025):

The problem is in the file client/bin/wireguard-go. If you replace it with a file extracted from a previous version, the connection works fine.

The whole problem was that the wireguard-go file did not have execution permission...

@Nethius, I closed this issue, because I am using files extracted from the official installer (for AUR package), and I don't know if the official installer fixes permissions during installation. If not, the problem will also occur in installations done by the official installer.
