Is there a way to specify in the config file itself by some parameter that the profile name can be immediately assigned via import instead of the user having to rename the profile after import?

Yes, but you need to have a configuration in a specific format. Which contains additional fields that the client processes.
This configuration is usually in the form of .json or a string starting with vpn://
