Hello team,
The Readme file states that the kernel module for RHEL/CentOS can be installed from your COPR repository.
But, unfortunately, the repository contains too old builds:
Are you planning to update packages in your COPR repository? Or is it completely abandoned?
@gragonlab commented on GitHub (Oct 1, 2026):
+1 on this. I guess only Ubuntu's PPA has the most up to date packages.
I am running Rocky 9 and just found out that EPEL9 has a very old module:
and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS has the most recent one:
@locaIhost commented on GitHub (Oct 12, 2026):
Confirming this on RED OS 8 (RHEL-like, aarch64, kernel-lt 6.12.101-1.red80).
COPR package (1.0.20241112) fails to build:
prepare-sources.shrunsyumdownloader --source kernel, but RED OS shipsthe kernel as
kernel-ltand has no public source RPM repositories, so thepre_build step fails with exit status 255.
Current master builds fine:
Since master no longer needs the full kernel source tree, the manual build
works out of the box (steps from README > Manual build) with only
dkmsand
kernel-lt-develinstalled:The module loads successfully:
So rebuilding the COPR packages from current master would most likely fix
installation on RED OS and other RHEL-based distros.
