Summary
The build helpers finish by changing back to the caller's directory, so a failed build or installation can still return success.
install.shcan continue to pip after a failed build, anddevelop.shcan link an extension left by an incomplete build.Changes
Stop
build.sh,install.sh, anddevelop.shwhen a command fails. Add isolated regression coverage for build failures, installation failures, partial artifacts, and successful runs.Testing
python tests/utils/test_build_scripts.pypasses, including on Python 3.10. The failure cases fail against the current upstream scripts and pass with this change. Shell syntax checks andgit diff --checkalso pass. The tests use temporary project copies and stub build/install commands. No CUDA build or GPU kernels were run.
