I have issues using the latest repository, whether development or installation, running
But before that, I would not encounter this problem using the old repository, that only has hopper architecture code. Cuda version is 12.9. How should I solve this problem?
@lucifer1004 commented on GitHub (Jul 24, 2025):
Your driver version might be too old. The
cuda-compatpackage should help.@imxKyrie commented on GitHub (Jul 24, 2025):
@lucifer1004 I tried to install cuda-compat, it prompts that it is already the latest version
cuda-compat-12-9 is already the newest version (575.51.03-0ubuntu1). And driver version is 535.161.08. But it will still report an error@Chtholly-Boss commented on GitHub (Jul 26, 2025):
Hi, I have encountered the same problem.
It seems that the problem is when loading
deep_gemm_cpp.cpython-310-x86_64-linux-gnu.so, the system loadlibcudart.soin/DeepGEMM/.venv/lib/python3.10/site-packages/torch/lib/../../nvidia/cuda_runtime/lib/libcudart.so.12, you can runstrace -e openat,open python3 /root/DeepGEMM/tests/test_layout.py 2>&1 | grep "cudart"to check this.DeepGEMM requires CUDA12.8 or higher, but torch use 12.6 for now.
You can export the
LD_PRELOADvariable to load your system cuda library likeexport LD_PRELOAD=/usr/local/cuda/targets/x86_64-linux/lib/libcudart.so.12.@Yi-sir commented on GitHub (Aug 14, 2025):
It works, thank you!

Fixed in
github.com/deepseek-ai/DeepGEMM@ea9c5d9270. Now we are using driver API by default.
