Hi there,

I am currently using vLLM to deploy the deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-R1-Distill-Qwen-32B model with the following command:

vllm serve deepseek-ai/DeepSeek-R1-Distill-Qwen-32B --tensor-parallel-size 2 --max-model-len 32768 --enforce-eager

This command was copied from the README, and I am not entirely sure about the specific purpose of the --enforce-eager flag.

Could you please provide more context on:

  1. What exactly does the --enforce-eager flag do in vllm?
  2. Why would one choose to enable this option during deployment?

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
