Description:

  • Use Case: Code preservation & version control integration
  • Suggested Implementation: Browser-side export button
  • Security: Optional local encryption

1. Chat Export Functionality

Dear devs,

For many reasons, I thought that a feature to export a chat could be an interesting add-on. As our interaction with your AMAZING system deepens, we might end up with this co-authored knowledge library that would be convenient to being able to search offline. Our Human memory is not as exact and sometimes requires a bit of search and, unfortunately, browser tools lack a bit on this front, because essentially browsers are not made for this.

Whilst the Markdown option gathers strong convenience for document integration, the JSON one could be used for a bit more structured search, or DB storage (thinking Mongo-type).

2. Markdown

Connected to this, I would like to suggest that users be able to ask with Markdown. Your engine revealed to me recently that he understood Markdown and that my code snippets were all perfectly formatted (he is absolutely adorable!), but these are not shown in the page properly formatted, like the responses are.

3. Folders & folding

As I resort to DeepSeek in more and more diverse matters, the feeling is dawning on me that at some point it will be hard to manage that sidebar. Perhaps the date grouping is meant for this, but I can't help feeling that timeline might not be the best way to organise chats.

My interests include a wide number of themes: frontend, backend, SQL and NoSQL storage, multiple programming languages, plus music, lietrature, cinema and even translations. If I could have some sort of spaces, themes, areas or something of the sort, that would be ideal. If these could be hierarchical and not just shallow, even better.

Note

Sometimes, here in Switzerland (CET) your system becomes very heavy, particularly from around 11:30 AM onward. Since this is wake-up time in the US East Coast, a feeling of US-made DDOS attacks on your platform is very hard to shake off. Could you please IP Filter those nice gents into a small bucket that doesn't drain your resources?
