Hi DeepSeek team,

I’d like to request a native Projects or Workspaces feature in the DeepSeek chat UI.

The idea is similar to ChatGPT Projects or Gemini Gems/Notebooks: users could group related chats, files, custom instructions, and memory under one project, so context carries across conversations.

Why this would be useful

  • Many users work on long-term tasks: coding, research, study, writing, business planning, etc.
  • The current chat list becomes hard to manage once you have dozens or hundreds of conversations.
  • Important context gets lost between chats.
  • Users have to re-explain project background, preferences, and constraints in every new conversation.
  • A project feature would improve organization, continuity, and productivity.

Suggested capabilities

  1. Create, rename, and delete projects.
  2. Assign existing chats to a project.
  3. Project-level custom instructions / system prompt.
  4. Project-level file or knowledge base (docs, code, notes, PDFs).
  5. Optional project memory that applies across chats in that project.
  6. Search and filter chats by project.
  7. Export or share a project.
  8. UI: a “Projects” section in the sidebar with quick move / drag-and-drop.

Example use cases

  • Developer: one project per codebase, with repo docs, error logs, and design decisions.
  • Researcher: one project per paper or topic, with PDFs and notes.
  • Student: one project per course or exam.
  • Writer: one project per book or article series.
  • Repeated workflows: shared context for tasks you return to often.

This seems like a common request among users, and it would make DeepSeek much more competitive with ChatGPT and Gemini for daily knowledge work.

Would the team consider adding this to the roadmap? Even a basic version — folders plus per-project instructions — would be a big improvement.

Thank you.
