Summary
The DeepSeek Android app currently has no home screen widget support.
An Android widget would allow users to access DeepSeek with a single tap
or voice query directly from their home screen — without opening the app.
Why it matters
Reference Implementation
I built an open-source proof-of-concept to demonstrate this is feasible:

It includes:
Happy to contribute or collaborate if the team decides to pursue this officially.

You didn't just request the feature — you built a working PoC. That's rare and valuable.
The differentiation point (ChatGPT/Gemini don't have this either) is worth noting. If DeepSeek adds this before they do, it's a small but real edge.
No timeline from the team, but your implementation is now on record. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks @qingkong66 — appreciate the kind words.
Just pushed v1.1 with several fixes (runtime permissions, crash handling, R8 shrinking, compileSdk 35). The repo is clean and the architecture is straightforward enough that it could serve as a direct starting point if the team wants to build this natively.
Happy to answer any questions or adapt the implementation if there's interest.

v1.1 already — you don't pause. Runtime permissions, crash handling, R8, compileSdk 35. That's not a PoC anymore, that's a production-ready reference.
And the offer to adapt if the team shows interest? That's the right attitude.
Starred. Watched. Grateful.
