Go is broken on some platforms, while Python works everywhere. Is it possible to make Go optional?

On what platforms is Go broken? In my experience is the other way around. Always had issues with different python versions and that virtual env which is just broken. With go you have a single binary that you can deploy on the platform of your choice.

@mihaiav Go is broken on all ppc, for example (AFAIK, including Linux). It is broken on multiple macOS versions, if we mean the current version of Go (archaic ones work, but fail to build modern Go software).
gccgo is broken on all macOS, regardless of version and arch.

Go works (natively) on Plan 9, Python 3 does not.

@dertuxmalwieder I think Python is still far better in terms of cross-platform support, and its current upstream policy, while quite bad, IMO, is not as abysmal as with Go, but point accepted :)
