📄 Description

Summary

  • Update the Pi integration guide to use Pi's built-in DeepSeek provider
  • Add a Pi 0.83.0 minimum version requirement and upgrade instructions
  • Document environment-variable and /login authentication as alternative methods
  • Clarify that the first Pi launch initializes the .pi configuration directory
  • Document the current model selection and reasoning-effort workflow
  • Keep the English and Simplified Chinese guides consistent

Why

Pi 0.83.0 includes DeepSeek as a built-in provider, so users no longer need to create a custom models.json.

The previous configuration duplicated model metadata maintained by Pi and contained outdated reasoning mappings and pricing values. The updated guide uses Pi's built-in provider and current authentication flow.

Verification

  • Tested with Pi 0.83.0
  • Confirmed that DEEPSEEK_API_KEY and /login are alternative authentication methods
  • Confirmed that the built-in provider lists:
    • deepseek-v4-pro
    • deepseek-v4-flash
  • Confirmed 1M context, 384K maximum output, and thinking support
  • Verified the English and Simplified Chinese guides have matching structure
  • Ran git diff --check

See CONTRIBUTING.md for full guidelines.

Checklist

Agent Configuration

  • Model names are current (v4-pro / v4-flash, not v3 names)
  • 1M context is configured or mentioned
  • Max thinking effort level is supported
  • Pricing is current (input, output, cache hit), verified against [DeepSeek API Docs](https://api-docs.deepseek.com/
quick_start/pricing) — N/A: the updated guide does not include pricing
  • Config fields are verified to work in the agent — N/A: the guide uses Pi's built-in DeepSeek provider instead of
    custom configuration fields
  • No workarounds for already-fixed upstream bugs

Documentation

  • Both English and Chinese versions included in a single PR
  • README table entry inserted in alphabetical order — the existing Pi entries are already present in both READMEs
  • One tool per PR; unrelated tools not combined
  • Images placed in docs/assets/ with descriptive filenames and reasonable sizes — N/A: no images added
