Hi,
I am currently playing around to create an image for Dosbox-X (retroarch only comes with Dosbox, which has much less features) to run OS's DOS, WIN3.11 and WIN98SE: https://github.com/handtrixx/dolf . I was thinking instead of providing my own project i could make pull requests for your project. just not sure about: do you prefere 3 images for each OS or like i currently did 1 image using different config files by env variables? Also: do you like the idea at all, or should i keep it as a separate project?
Kind Regards

Hello there! 👋
First off, love the repo name
dolfis brilliant!This seems like a rather specific image, so it might be not the best fit for GOW.
It would be nice to have a "community images" place of some sorts. Do you have any idea?
I'll think about this a little bit, I have to flesh it out properly..
@handtrixx commented on GitHub (Feb 8, 2025):
Hi, thanks a lot.
I share your thought, it's really a bit out of the "normal" design you created Wolf for. I just saw you already have a discord channel, and there a section "community-images". so i just posted an info about the repository there, in case someone else is curious or would like to do the same. For sure I also can create forum (standard software) or webpages (i use next.js) or whatever for you and host it, so you spare the expences. Just reach out about what you think would be best.

Hey @handtrixx
That's great,
The community-apps is relatively new but the intent was to have a place where community made images could be posted but also enable a means for people to seek support from others who use the image or the author.
The idea is to strike a balance between giving people more apps, but not necessarily the wolf team being responsible for maintaining these community apps.
Still early days on this but definitely welcome any feedback to improve this

@handtrixx I've just restructured the GOW repo and made a website wildlife that lists all the available images, and I was wondering if we should add a "community apps" or something along those lines and include your image as a starting point.
What do you think?
I'm open to feedback on the base website too, I've just quickly put together stuff and it's very much still WIP!
@handtrixx commented on GitHub (Feb 27, 2025):
@ABeltramo: Hi, that sounds like a great idea to me. Sure, let's do that as you proposed and overcomplicate it later then. I can update the Dolf repo and also provide any kind of information to you. Planned anyway to split it to one project by OS to keep it simple. What would you like me to do, what do you need?
@ABeltramo commented on GitHub (Feb 27, 2025):
Not much really, I'll just take a screenshot of the running image, generate an icon for Moonlight and embed your README.md as the page source. I guess I was mostly looking for feedback 😅
Quick question:
What's required at this path and can we instead pick a folder from
$HOMEso that we don't have to hardcode a specific path in the host?Also, are you going to build and publish your docker image? I can help you setting up Github actions if you like!
@handtrixx commented on GitHub (Feb 27, 2025):
Excellent.
Ok, I wil clean all of that up and contact you soon, once done.
If I can't manage the automatization, I will reach out to you as well, thanks a lot for the offer.
Looking forward to it.

Hi @ABeltramo : I think I finished everything according to our discussion. https://github.com/handtrixx/dolf . The Docker images is also there, now. Do you require something else? How do/will you generate/maintain wildlife, do you use jeckyll, nextra or hugo or similar?
@ABeltramo commented on GitHub (Mar 2, 2025):
@handtrixx I don't see the package for the Github action on your repo. Maybe it's just private, see here on how to turn that into public.
I don't think so, I'll just try your image locally, make a screenshot and fill out a different section in GOW for the "community apps".
Yes, it's generated with Hugo. There's a very simple bash script in
bin/build-website.shthat does that@handtrixx commented on GitHub (Mar 2, 2025):
@ABeltramo Ouch. Ok, now it's public. I put a screenshot and a logo to the repo, but for sure feel free to make your own.
Will have a look at the sources, then. The theme maybe could be a bit more fancy. Just let me know if you need anything else.
