First want to thank you for making this wonderful plugin that makes the installaztion so much easier.

Tried to install games-on-whale using the plugin on unraid 7.1.4 with a AMD 6750xt GPU, installaztion went smoothly, however, when steam is launched for streaming, there is no sound at all and in the sound tab, no audio sink can be detected.

Tried re-installing and troubleshooting using AI but could not get the bottom of it, any help would be appreciated!

Here is the logs of WolfPulseAudio:

I also tried to run
"pactl info
pactl list short sinks
env | grep PULSE" inside WolfUI as suggested by AI, and it gives:

It seems PulseAudio does generate virtual audio sinks but steam cannot receive it?

I pushed what I think is the fix in release 2026.06.06. The plugin now sets a longer PulseAudio container startup timeout. The default was too short on Unraid. Please update to the latest release, re-run Install from the GoW settings page, and let me know if Steam picks up an audio sink. Thanks!

Just to add. There are more issue with this on 7.3.1

Wolf-den started giving me error with wolf API:
fail: GamesOnWhales.WolfApi[0]
The Wolf API SSE encountered an HttpRequestException exception: Statuscode: - An error occurred while sending the request.

So I've checked the API logs. The log was full of pulse audio errors:

So I had to do this for a temporary fix:
root@Tower:~# docker exec -it wolf chown root:root /tmp/sockets

I don't know if it's the same bug or something new implemented with 7.3.1 (I was on 7.3.0 previously).

This was due to a change pushed yesterday for pulse audio.

I'm going to be getting the fix to unraid right now @bpivk

Fixed in the latest release. The embedded PulseAudio change needed two things sorted on Unraid: the startup wait (Wolf now waits for the socket directly) and the /tmp/sockets ownership, which down -v now recreates root-owned so the in-container PulseAudio starts cleanly. Update to the newest version and re-run Install from the GoW settings page and audio should show up. Thanks for the detailed logs, they made this much easier to track down.

The embedded PulseAudio change needed two things sorted on Unraid: the startup wait (Wolf now waits for the socket directly) and the `/tmp/sockets` ownership, which `down -v` now recreates root-owned so the in-container PulseAudio starts cleanly. Update to the newest version and re-run Install from the GoW settings page and audio should show up. Thanks for the detailed logs, they made this much easier to track down.
