Thanks for Wolf Den! Two small problems we ran into, both with a simple fix:

1. Apps page fails when there are many apps
The Apps page requests the profiles once per app, all at once. The socat in entrypoint.sh uses the default backlog (5) and the default 0.5 s timeout, so with ~76 apps many requests fail with Resource temporarily unavailable (localhost:80) or come back empty.
Changing the line to this fixed it for us:

socat -t 60 UNIX-LISTEN:/app/wolf.sock,backlog=256,mode=600,...

(With many parallel requests Wolf itself sometimes returns broken JSON too — reported separately in the Wolf repo — so sending the requests one at a time, or fewer of them, would help even more.)

2. Error page after every restart
The ASP.NET keys are stored inside the container (/home/ubuntu/.aspnet/DataProtection-Keys), so after a restart or update the browser shows an error page (The antiforgery token could not be decrypted) until you reload. Mounting a volume there fixes it; maybe add it to the example compose:

- /etc/wolf/wolf-den/aspnet:/home/ubuntu/.aspnet

Small suggestion
Wolf Den has no login, while it can add apps (= start containers with extra permissions). A short note in the README to keep it behind a proxy with authentication, or off the LAN, would be good.

Setup
ghcr.io/games-on-whales/wolf-den:stable (built 2026-08-17), rootful podman.
