Original GitHub issue: https://github.com/games-on-whales/wolf-ui/issues/8
i tried today the new docker-image and now I receive the following error. The error is a new occurrence, as the last week’s build functioned without any issues.
gamesonwhale-19.log
i have the env in docker-compose:
with this env, log still says
accessing the api trough
is succesful
After this, i set
but in the debugin logs is says
gamesonwhale-20.log
Edit: okay i think there is a missmatch between the default socket location, and the location in the config.toml.
after editing the config.toml
it works as expected.
maybe to logic how all of them plays together need a rethink

Just wanted to confirm that I also hit this issue using the latest
:wolf-uibranch, started with the following podlet file:The only two settings I have in place now are:
Things were working OK before the latest container update. Changing the settings in
config.tomlas suggested by @Gylfkxjyjdll above seemed to get things going again:I believe there were some simplifications in the latest update, requiring fewer mounts and the removal of
HOST_APPS_STATE_FOLDERfrom our configs. I wonder if this is one thing that moved, but the settings were not updated to reflect it?@ABeltramo commented on GitHub (Sep 29, 2025):
Yep, on
:stablethere's now no need to manually set and mountHOST_APPS_STATE_FOLDERandXDG_RUNTIME_DIRso the idea was to port these changes to this branch too so that users would still be able to easily swap between:stableand:wolf-uiwith the samedocker runcommand. As a result, we'll now automatically mount the Wolf socket under
XDG_RUNTIME_DIR(so you guys should be able to drop the hardcodedWOLF_SOCKET_PATHenv variable) and Wolf will automagically mount it and fixup the env variables.Something has gone wrong though and I'll definitely fix it soon; bear with me..

@scottsweb @Gylfkxjyjdll just pushed a potential fix for this, latest
ghcr.io/games-on-whales/wolf:wolf-ui(currently building in CI..) works for me with the default configuration from the quickstart guide. Please let me know if this is still an issue for you guys, if it is, please share the
DEBUGlogs for your run. In particular, keep an eye out for the following lines:To check where the mismatch is..
@scottsweb commented on GitHub (Sep 30, 2025):
This looks to have fixed it, thanks @ABeltramo
I trashed my main wolf directory and ended up with a new
config.tomlwith the following contents:And the following startup log:
No longer getting API errors 😃
