hi there,
first off, thank you very much for creating this excellent piece of software! it feels like a superpower playing games on any devices while my pc sits behind the couch.
i installed wolf (zero-copy) on a proxmox privileged lxc using nvidia-container toolkit method and i am able to play games fine on steam. however, when i check system information on steam, my video card shows as
llvmpipeinstead of rtx 3050 i have on board. searching around, it looks when steam shows this, its falling back to software rendering on cpu instead of using gpu.the weird part is when i check
nvidia-smion lxc, i do see the game processes listed in it so i am unsure as to whether steam is actually using the dedicated gpu or not. additionally, i also see high cpu load when running a graphically intensive game (prey for eg). i am attaching some screenshots and logs.wolf logs (with debug flag on)
nvidia-smifor prey gamewill gladly appreciate any pointers. let me know if there is a need for additional info/logs.

I think you are fine: Wolf is picking up the GPU (
nvcodec),nvidia-smiis listing Steam and the Prey so they are accessing the GPU.How much CPU usage are we actually talking about? It's a low powered i3 from a few years back; I don't think you'd be able to play any kind of game if it wasn't HW accelerated with the GPU.
I'd have to double-check if my Steam setup correctly lists the Nvidia GPU down there; it might be just a UI thing. What I would suggest to try is to see if there's any difference by using the Nvidia driver module as specified in the quickstart guide. That is the method that has the highest compatibility.

thank you for the prompt reply @ABeltramo , you are spot on!! i tried the manual method from quick start and now it shows the correct driver 🎉
regarding the cpu usage i see is above 100% when the game is running. here's the
topcommand on lxc and i assume thewolfis the running game. you might be right on the processor being a lower end as well but since prey is relatively an old game, i thought it might not be too much cpu intensive however i might be very wrong here.@ABeltramo commented on GitHub (Jun 30, 2025):
Again, I think that's absolutely normal.
What you see there reported by
topas236%it means that you have 2.36 thread load which means roughly 50% CPU usage for you 4 cores CPU. I think that's completely normal and expected for such a low powered CPU.@semalPatel commented on GitHub (Jul 1, 2025):
sounds good. thank you for the insights @ABeltramo . very helpful. closing the issue.
