Weird issue! My PC and Nvidia Shield (Tube 2019 version) both work. But launching apps on a different Android box (Onn 4K Plus, Android 14) fails to show anything. I can hear the test ball going, but see no video. I then ran the Firefox container on a working setup (PC and Nvidia Shield) and tried to do a diff comparison of the logs between working/non-working. I noticed the video resolution was wrong and it tried to set 1280x720 for some reason (
GAMESCOPE_WIDTH=1280), even though it's supposed to be 4K60.This is not an issue of the apps taking a long time to load, the images are fully downloaded already. I know this because the test ball I can hear bouncing, but no video.
The only difference I can think of (apart from a different streaming device) is that both my PC and the Shield TV are connected via ethernet and the other box is on wifi.
Debug level log on the non-working client:
@Hukuma1 commented on GitHub (Jul 9, 2025):
Tried on an iPhone and an iPad and it worked flawlessly. So it's definitely not a wifi issue. Something with the Onn streaming device specifically it seems? Or Android 14?
@ABeltramo commented on GitHub (Jul 9, 2025):
I do use the Android Moonlight app practically daily when testing things, so I would exclude a general issue with that unless you are using a special (or non updated maybe?) version.
The wrong resolution is most likely the issue, I would suspect that there's something wrong when exchanging the parameters during RTSP. Can you lower the log level to
TRACEand paste the output from when you request an app to start up until the stream starts? Be aware that it'll print quite a lot..@Hukuma1 commented on GitHub (Jul 11, 2025):
Wow you weren't kidding. It's quite chatty haha. I hope this shows the information, I was having a hard time figuring out where it launched the container (Firefox).

@Hukuma1 commented on GitHub (Jul 11, 2025):
I'm using
Moonlight 12.1from the Play store. I believe that's the latest published version available.@Hukuma1 commented on GitHub (Sep 27, 2025):
So weird development. Moonlight allows me to override the auto setting of which video codec to use. HEVC/AV1/264. The auto setting chooses HEVC and this one fails to work. Setting AV1 works and I get video with sound as normal.
AV1 working:

HEVC not working:

264 fails saying some error about my resolution settings believe. I know it works at 1080p@60fps, but 4K@60fps it fails.
