Request
An option to start Xwayland inside the app container on Wolf's virtual screen, for apps that need X11 (
DISPLAY).Why
Without Sway/Gamescope (
RUN_SWAY/RUN_GAMESCOPEunset), apps draw straight on Wolf's Wayland screen — nice and light — but X11-only apps (e.g. Ryujinx/Avalonia, some Wine games) then exit silently becauseDISPLAYis empty. We now startXwayland :0 -fullscreenourselves in our launcher (like the xfce image does), but a built-in switch (e.g.RUN_XWAYLAND=1) in the base-applaunch-comp.shwould save others the search.@To0wnn commented on GitHub (Oct 6, 2026):
Closing: we've since moved all apps to Gamescope (which starts its own Xwayland), so X11 apps work without this. Still a nice-to-have for setups that skip Gamescope/Sway, but we no longer need it. Thanks!
