Problem

AgentENV currently downloads OverlayBD CLI tools from an Ubuntu .deb. The binaries and bundled libraries are tied to Ubuntu ABI and dependency versions, which prevents reliable installation on other Linux distributions.

Proposed Work

  • Build OverlayBD CLI from a pinned source revision using a musl toolchain.
  • Statically link all dependencies, including the C++ runtime, OpenSSL, libaio, zstd, and other native libraries.
  • Publish the binaries in a versioned, architecture-specific .tar.gz artifact.
  • Update config/deps_manifest.toml to reference the static bundle.
  • Update src/setup/overlaybd.rs to extract the portable archive directly.
  • Package the static tools into AgentENV server release bundles.
