@yingdi-shan commented on GitHub (Jul 30, 2026):
The WSL2 kernel does not support ublk (see microsoft/WSL#41054). AgentENV is designed for server environments, so WSL2 support is not currently planned.
@emersonbusson commented on GitHub (Aug 17, 2026):
Quick update for anyone landing here looking to run AgentENV on WSL2:
We have validated a config-only patch enabling
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_UBLK=magainst the official WSL2 kernel (linux-msft-wsl-6.18.y). It compiles cleanly for both x86_64 and arm64 with 0 new warnings, passes SparseC=2, and was tested in QEMU with/dev/ublk-controlinitializing properly.The full validation packet and kernel branch are available:
If you need
ublkon WSL2 today foroverlaybd/AgentENVahead of the stock kernel release, you can use that branch to build or loadublk_drv.ko.
