Description

Noticed that kt-kernel currently focuses on specific CPU/GPU architectures. I would like to know if there is any roadmap, timeline, or ongoing plan to support the A+K platform?

Hi @Entwinedime,

Thanks for the feature request.

Current status

  • Ascend NPU: There is existing work on Ascend NPU support — see #1843 and #1776 for ongoing discussions and the NPU tutorial in our docs.
  • Kunpeng (ARM CPU): The kt-kernel CPU backend currently requires x86 ISA (AVX512/AVX2/AMX). Supporting Kunpeng's ARM architecture would require porting the core CPU compute kernels to ARM NEON/SVE. See #1883 for a related discussion on ARM support.

There's no concrete timeline for full A+K platform support in kt-kernel at this point, but it's on our radar. We'll keep this issue open to track interest.
