dgVoodoo2 2.85 appears to work with Lutris with a single game (others do not work properly as fast I made some tests), which is the Omikron the Nomad Soul from GOG.
I made the same test with two different machines and different Linux distros (Intel GPU on Debian 12, and NVidia GPU on Ubuntu 24.04) and gives the same results.
First of all, I unpack the original archive from Dege website and unpack the 32-bit dlls to the Lutris runtime folder (v2.85) that was recognized by the launcher.
If I set the version 2.85 to a clean prefix the game will crash before opening the window, but selecting an older version first (v2.8.2) it will run fine and able to store a new configuration file. Once done, I revert to 2.85 to run a second time and then it works correctly! (The dgVoodoo2 logo appears since I want to test a clean default configuration).
Running manually with a clean prefix reveals that the first error was due to a thread failure related to a GPU detection error.
Later one I retest the same trick to another game (Carmageddon TDR 2000) for which with dgVoodoo2 v2.8.2 work and detect the wrapper on the setup program bundled with the game, while on dgVoodoo2 v2.85 it fail to detect and will crash if forced.
This discovery made me think that wither Wine or DXVK requires some work to fix this regression, in order to made dgVoodoo2 work again.
With both machines I use wine-ge-8.26 that is part of Lutris Runners Archives.

Merged with a broader issue.
