📄 Description

Summary

Rename the public npm distribution from @morluto/rea to rea-agents while preserving the REA product name, the rea executable, and the GitHub skill repository at morluto/rea.

User impact

New installs and generated MCP registrations use:

npx -y rea-agents setup --yes
npx -y rea-agents doctor
npx -y rea-agents mcp
npm install --global rea-agents

The executable remains rea, so globally installed command usage is unchanged.

No compatibility migration is included because the previous package has no users. The GitHub skill command remains npx skills add morluto/rea because that identifier refers to the repository rather than npm.

Implementation

update package and lockfile identity
update the shared runtime identity used by setup and MCP registration
update Release Please package metadata
update package verification, setup tests, identity tests, and localized README checks
update the installed skill and all localized setup documentation
update generated API documentation identity labels
broaden the CLI description to Reverse engineer anything from your terminal or coding agent

Publishing

rea-agents@0.2.1 has been published successfully to npm with the latest tag. Registry metadata exposes the rea binary and points to github.com/morluto/rea.

The initially considered unscoped name rea-tools was rejected by npm similarity protection and was never published.

Verification

npm run check — 155 tests passed
npm run lint:dead — no unused-code findings
npm run verify:package — packaged CLI and 50-tool MCP server passed
npm pack --dry-run — produced rea-agents-0.2.1.tgz with the rea executable
clean npx smoke test from /tmp — CLI help executed successfully
focused identity, setup configuration, README consistency, and runtime tests passed
pre-commit formatting, oxlint fixes, and TypeScript typecheck passed
