Summary

make npm the primary installation path and keep the curl installer CLI-only
require setup planning and approval before configuration or Hopper installation
install Hopper from the official macOS package with integrity and bundle validation
loosen supported Node versions and document installation and future onboarding work
add packaged-artifact E2E coverage for read-only planning and existing Hopper preservation
preserve caller-requested evidence paths across macOS /var canonicalization

Verification

npm run typecheck
npm run lint
npm run format:check
npm run verify:package
npm test — 56 files and 348 tests passed

Real Hopper verification was not run for this installer-focused change.
